Cancellation Policy
How cancellations work
All tour, trip, and camp cancellations must be sent in writing by email or mail. Refunds are based on the number of days between the date we receive your written cancellation and the date of the tour, trip, or camp.
Day, Evening, and Educational Tours
Payment is due in full at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
15 or more days before the tour: full refund
8 to 14 days before the tour: 50% refund
7 days or fewer before the tour: no refund
Multi-Day Trips
A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the trip date.
60 or more days before the trip: full refund of all payments
31 to 59 days before the trip: 50% of the trip cost is retained, and any payment above that amount is refunded
30 days or fewer before the trip: full trip cost is retained, no refund
Happy Orcas Adventure Camp
Payment is due at the time of reservation to secure a spot in camp.
45 or more days before camp: full refund
31 to 44 days before camp: 50% refund
30 days or fewer before camp: no refund
Rentals
Rental fees allow us to commit our staff and equipment to getting you on the water. We understand that life, weather, and outdoor recreation can be unpredictable. If Dragonfly Outfitters cancels a reservation for any reason, we’ll work to find an alternative date or time that fits your schedule, or offer a full refund.
If you cancel your reservation:
24 hours or more before the reservation: full refund, or you can transfer the fee to another date or time
Less than 24 hours before the reservation: 50% of the fee as a credit toward a future rental (no cash refund)
No-show: rental fee is forfeited
Rescheduling with 24 hours or more notice is not considered a cancellation.
General Policies
Dragonfly Outfitters reserves the right to cancel or postpone any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever. Although rare, cancellations are generally due to wind, weather, or other circumstances that are out of our control, and you will always be notified. The refund of all payments received shall release Dragonfly Outfitters from any further liability, including expenses incurred by participants in preparing for the trip.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to offset unforeseen cancellation penalties, medical expenses, and evacuation expenses. Dragonfly Outfitters doesn’t offer cancellation protection ourselves, but you can purchase it from a third party when you book any tour, trip, or camp by selecting the “Peek Protect” option. We don’t receive a commission, and refunds are handled directly by Peek Protect. Their guidelines decide what qualifies, and they don’t cover cancellations for schedule changes or changes of mind.
Each participant is required to fill out a liability release form prior to trip departure, which will be provided before every trip.
If a customer arrives and exhibits any sign of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, they will be asked to leave and no refund will be given.
